Services

Concrete development work in the SAP environment

Custom development in ABAP / ABAP OO

Reports, enhancements (BAdIs, user exits, enhancement framework) and standalone applications – built object-oriented and modular. Focused on readable, testable code that stays maintainable after hand-over.

Interface development

Connecting external systems and services via OData, IDoc, RFC/BAPI and file-based interfaces – including BW extractors on the source-system side. From data modelling and mapping through to error handling and monitoring.

Module-level development

Development with a real understanding of the processes in MM, SD, EWM and PS. Close coordination with Customizing rather than pure code-to-spec – enhancements that fit the standard.

SAP Workflow & process automation

Design and implementation of SAP Business Workflows: approval and release processes, event handling and task routing – including the underlying ABAP OO classes and agent determination.

WebDynpro ABAP & forms

Business applications with WebDynpro ABAP as well as form development for output and print processes. User interfaces that slot cleanly into existing SAP roles and processes.

Performance optimisation & code quality

Analysis and tuning of runtime-critical programs (SQL access, large-volume processing), code reviews and refactoring of grown developments towards maintainable structures.

Projects

Selected projects

Packing optimisation in the shipping process

Conception, new development and productive rollout of a system for optimising packing within the shipping process at an international trading company – in a combined consultant and developer role, from requirements gathering with the business departments through to live operation. At its core is a complex, high-performance engine that simulates packing scenarios and, via intelligent algorithms and a score-based selection process, determines the most efficient packing variant. Result: a significantly streamlined shipping process. (ABAP OO)

Mass import framework for pricing conditions

Custom-built import system for pricing conditions with parallel processing, dedicated logging, monitoring and job scheduling – designed for high data volumes where standard approaches hit their throughput limits. (ABAP OO)

S/4HANA transformation

Development-side support for an S/4HANA transformation – including test and transport management with Solution Manager and a coordinating role between development, basis and external consulting during the go-live and hypercare phase.

Profile

Background

I have worked in SAP development since 2011, mainly in the retail and wholesale sector as well as the energy industry. Over that time I have delivered and owned numerous custom developments, interfaces and workflow solutions in productive SAP landscapes – from gathering requirements with the business departments through to support in live operation.

Most recently I led an SAP development team for around two and a half years, including steering an external international development team. From that role I bring, alongside hands-on development, experience in project coordination, technical design and team leadership – useful wherever development has to be aligned across several stakeholders and with clear interfaces to the business and to consulting partners.

My professional foundation is a vocational qualification as an IT specialist in application development (Fachinformatiker Anwendungsentwicklung). I work as a freelancer 100% remote, across Germany, for end customers and consultancies.

In addition, I have designed and rolled out Jira-based development and IT processes and integrated Jira and Confluence technically into SAP: release changelogs from Jira appear as “what’s new” notices directly inside the SAP applications, and application documentation is served from Confluence.

My SAP BW experience covers both perspectives: building up a BW system, and the source-system side – extractors and interfaces feeding a BW project from the ERP.
